on anticipating partings

one non-people related thing i will be sad to leave behind in LA is the sheer amount of delicious taiwanese food and drink places in the SGV. 

i want to take enormous hits of these foods, inhaling it into the ether of my being, never forgetting the feeling of minced pork on noodles, glutinous rice flavored with tasty fat, pickled vegetables, thick hearty tofu marinated in soy sauce, flavored iced tea drinks, crispy flour rolls of beef and cilantro, everything. just everything.

hallelujah. it’s amazing the feeling when you stumble upon food that resonates with memory and your culture. 

consumerism – positive externality

i’ve been trying to find this cd that i first heard on the radio of female singers from africa and couldn’t remember any parts of the name since it’s not in english. today, i checked my browsing history in amazon and found it: republique amazone.

yay for websites that store all of our keystrokes – you are exceedingly creepy and a glimmer of an impending dystopia where everyone is constantly under surveillance and you are also very helpful for humans prone to memory loss.

i had to pee very badly on the way home but also had to get gas so swung by arco and there in the station adjacent to me was my car mechanic. we waved at each other. los angeles feels smaller each time things like this happen. 

ode to feeling clean

i feel good right now. i just washed my hair with EO shampoo, which is a brand i’ve admired since using it at an air bnb nathan and i stayed with in astoria, oregon.

i love grocery outlet. i saved $37 today buying these splurge-y brands of shampoo and hand soaps: EO essentials, ECOS, and Delon (based in Canada).

you can also buy target brand clothes there and other assortments of goods that change with the seasons. 

gross out is the best!
