The philosophy of MBV concerts

Thoughts from a first time listener.

The philosophy of MBV is hear the sound before you hear the music.

No, it’s feel the sound. Let the noise overwhelm your body and melt your brain.

If meditation is this self-will to concentrate deeply or focus on something, MBV is like forced hypnosis using massive walls of noise to assault your sense of self.

The lyrics, the music, the art of making music is eclipsed by the weight of the noise.

If the ATF wanted to get David Koresh out of the building and had tons of cash, they could have had MBV play a concert in Waco. #RIP.

Cheated Hearts by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs used to be on my playlist in 2006 and there’s a refrain “Sometimes I think I’m bigger than the sound”.

MBV is bigger than the sound.

The thing I appreciate about them is the name. One of the best and most original band names ever.

my soul is rotting

i think being at xxxx means that my soul is rotting from a complacent faith.

i think of this image of the body of christ that has become disconnected from the Gospel radiance of life transformation in Christ.

and i feel like something so important to me, ie, my faith, has begun to die.

and at the same time, i am afraid to leave the people who have invested into my life. i am afraid to hurt their feelings.
